WDVA Truck Driver, Full-Time, Permanent, Spokane Veterans Home
About the role
The Spokane Veterans Home is seeking a Full-Time Truck Driver 1 to provide quality care and customer service to resident Veterans by transporting them to and from medical appointments, legal appointments, and social services appointments.
Responsibilities
- Operate medium to large buses/vans and other vehicles to transport residents to and from appointments and outings.
- Pick up and deliver other items as needed.
- Perform customer service communications and service on a daily basis.
- Perform general maintenance and repair work of building facilities and equipment such as laundry, kitchen, hospital, and HVAC areas.
- Grounds work – snow and ice removal, sweep sidewalks and parking lots, leaf pick up.
- Operate and use a variety of hand power tools.
- Clean up and maintain work areas, shop areas, and storage areas.
Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to interact with residents and co-workers
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write in the English language
Special Requirements
- Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check every two (2) years
- Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Must successfully complete, within mandated timeframes, employee orientation and all other mandatory annual, in-service, and other required training
- Must sign the confidentiality statement for all employees
