About the role

Primarily responsible for the overall safety, quality, and productivity of the production areas, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining cost of goods sold (COGS) to budget plans. This role fosters engaged employees and drives continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and DMAIC process, optimizing the use of employees, equipment, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the daily operation of assigned department(s), including staffing levels (direct/contract) and budget accountability to meet plant objectives efficiently.
• Provide training and reinforcement to ensure the workforce understands and applies skills required to produce quality products according to Greene, Tweed and customer requirements.
• Administer company rules, regulations, and safety policies; initiate and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide leadership, initiate communication, and collaborate cross-functionally across all levels, including between shifts and departments, to address issues and support operators.
• Analyze department performance against metrics, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and communicate goals to ensure alignment with plant commitments.
• Guide workforce in compliance with Standard Work, recommend improvements to Work Instructions, methods, processes, policies, and equipment, and ensure operators are informed.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status as defined by applicable law for authorized access to data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, and workers granted refugee or asylum status in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED required; preference given to candidates with a BS Degree.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience, including exposure to leading or directing the work of others; 3 years of direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in plastics and elastomers required.
• Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, focused on continuous improvement and High Performance Work teams, is desired.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example and serve as a positive role model.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels in the organization.
• Metric-driven and analytical problem-solving experience required; root cause analysis/Six Sigma training is a plus.
