About the Role
Responsible for providing students with employability training leading to full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training. Oversees the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program to ensure students actively participate in on- and off-Center on-the-job training assignments, improving their employability skill-set.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with transportation services and evaluate student competencies.
- Conduct community outreach to established WBL sites and manage related MOUs.
- Ensure the integrity of student WBL documentation and follow all integrity guidelines to prevent manipulation of student data.
- Ensure all eligible students participate in WBL and market the program to staff and students.
- Identify viable WBL employer sites, establish MOUs, and conduct periodic OSHA and site supervision inspections.
- Ensure the Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
- Interview, recommend for hire, discipline, recommend for termination, and evaluate the performance of WBL program employees.
- Establish supportive/mentoring relationships with students and provide employability and career counseling.
- Routinely evaluate student performance, update ePCDP and related student plans, and identify/remediate barriers to student achievement.
- Ensure student accountability procedures are compliant for all WBL students.
- Provide transportation services to meet center requirements.
- Produce quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner while maintaining appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and productivity standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Apply job knowledge effectively to complete all required job responsibilities and proactively maintain necessary skills.
- Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
- Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to influence student behavior positively.
- Show respect and courtesy to students while holding them accountable for their actions and behavior.
- Provide quality programs and services for students, ensuring needs are met and pursuing improvements.
- Exchange ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.
- Provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested and articulate thoughts effectively.
- Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate solutions before taking action, ensuring follow-up for prompt resolution.
- Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
- Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Program Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments to other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; a degree from an accredited school preferred.
- Previous group facilitation, student management, or Job Corps experience preferred.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications preferred.
- Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
