About the role
Provide systematic visual inspection of cast parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and apply the Quality Engineering Specification (QES) to the visual inspection of castings using a scan pattern.
- Evaluate indications and decide to accept or reject the casting based on QES acceptance criteria.
- Operate air-powered tools to remove defects and/or rework castings.
- Grit blast parts in an enclosed grit blast cabinet as necessary.
- Perform “Toy Soldier” inspection of parts to identify differences in groups of parts per the QES.
- Lift individual parts (up to 6 pounds) and trays of parts (up to 25 pounds).
- Train Inspector I’s as required.
- Work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Nine months of on-the-job training (OJT).
- Ability to lift/move 5-15 pounds, 2 or more times per hour.
