Wax - Inject Mold Mach Operator 3rd shift

Summary

Operates wax injection molding machines to form wax patterns, gating, sprues and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Selects next work order following instructions of supervisor or team leader.
• Ensures the correct practice is pulled up on Mercury screen while performing the injection operation.
• Fulfills the Injection Practice for correct procedure to follow, with work to be performed.
• Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area.
• Handles die carefully to prevent damage. (Never using metal instruments on the inside die surface)
• Plays wax inside the die cavity according to engineering specifications.
• Closes die and positions it under platen lining up injection port on die with nozzle on injection molding machine.
• Sets temperature, pressure, speed, dwell time and other settings as required by injection practice.
• Lowers platen to hold die in place and begins injection cycle.
• Pulls die out and opens die manually or with assistance of air pressure from air hose.
• Removes wax part from inside die and inspects for damages or excess wax.
• Performs minor cleaning or deflashing operation.
• Places finished part on tray or in the correct setter or pattern fixture.
• Notifies supervisor or team leader of any quality issue they may have when inspecting the injected patterns, sprues or components.
• Completes all necessary paperwork, to include signing off the part router.
• Transfers completed patterns to the next operation according to the router.
• Fills wax tanks as required.
• Completes TPM checklist that is posted on the machine daily.
• Informs supervisor or team leader when work assignment is complete.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent life experience and three to six months related experience or training.
• Ability to learn and operate all injection machines and perform all functions of wax injection operations to include placement of patterns in wax setters or fixtures after injection.
