About the Role
The Wax Dresser is responsible for performing all operations and operating equipment safely and efficiently in the dressing and blending of wax patterns. This role requires the production of high-quality and high-quantity parts, meeting daily production quotas. The Wax Dresser works with various materials and tools, including glue, nail polishes, car wax, china markers, propane torches, hot needles, hot plates, Exacto knives, and dental tools.
Responsibilities
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
- Inspect, dress, book, and blend wax patterns per established procedures.
- Meet efficiency standards set by supervision.
- Record daily work performed and distribute work time by operational codes using the manufacturing computer system.
- Obtain supplies and use waxes, lubricants as required.
- Ensure quality through visual inspection and gauging.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Observe all safety rules, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous casting experience is a plus.
- Experience with miscellaneous hand tools, tables, racks, boxes, safety guidelines, feeds, grinders, inspection tools, etc.
- Ability to handle hazardous waste according to MSDS and company policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (may be substituted by experience).
- Must pass Jaeger vision test.
- Good vision and hand-eye coordination (e.g., inserting small pins into wax patterns).
Skills
- Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity.
- Able to work flexible hours with a strong attendance record.
- Comfortable using a team approach to problem-solving.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
