About the role
Waterford Direct Care Staff will be working in various community settings to support individuals recovering from strokes, concussions, and brain injuries. The role involves helping clients with safety, organization, medical and therapeutic rehab homework, medication reminders, social activities, and money management.
Responsibilities
- Support clients in community settings
- Help clients with safety and organization
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medical and therapeutic rehab homework
- Engage in social activities and support money management
- Ensure clients are safe and comfortable
- Support clients in their recovery journey
Requirements
- One to two years of health care experience
- Valid Driver's License and Car
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- Advanced smart-phone and tablet skills
- Background check and drug testing before hire
- Experience supporting individuals recovering from strokes, concussions, and brain injuries
- High standards of care and accountability
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with life skills training (ILST)
- Knowledge of stroke recovery and rehabilitation
- Understanding of concussion management and recovery
- Experience with brain injury rehabilitation
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
