Water / Wastewater Staff Engineer
Responsibilities
Aid in the development and management of water/wastewater projects, focusing on treatment, collection, and distribution systems. Tasks include the creation of studies, design and construction observation for treatment plants, collection systems, and distribution systems; such as process evaluations and troubleshooting, feasibility studies, bench scale and pilot scale studies, master planning, design, plant operation, and regulatory negotiation/permitting. Collaborate with the design team across multiple offices and disciplines to produce detailed design documents for construction plans. Ensure meeting of client deadlines and project budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
- Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering preferred
- 2-5 years of progressive experience with public sector water and wastewater projects
- Florida Professional Engineer license preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with modeling and GIS software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and county/agency review staff
- Water/wastewater infrastructure experience is a plus
Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering. A Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering is preferred. Two to five years of progressively responsible experience with public sector water and wastewater projects. A Florida Professional Engineer license is preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with modeling and GIS software is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Teamwork and client communication skills are crucial. Prior experience in water/wastewater infrastructure is beneficial.
