Duties

  • Organize, supervise, and schedule resources to meet program and production goals
  • Analyze, develop, revise, and improve scheduling, standards, and procurement methods
  • Conduct studies, analyze data, and prepare reports of findings and recommendations
  • Formulate and administer budgets
  • Develop work-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Modify work assignments of employees in accordance with plant needs
  • Formulate, interpret, enforce, and apply policies and regulatory requirements controlling plant processes
  • Recommend staffing levels and equipment purchase and replacement

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Environmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or related degree preferred
  • Heavy background in maintenance of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment (i.e.: control panels, MBRs, PLCs, VFDs, submersible pumps, lift systems, equipment rigging, motor and bearing replacement, etc.)
  • Certification Desired: State of Texas, Class 1/A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license or another state’s equivalent, or ability to gain licensing as required by the regulatory authority
  • Five plus years supervising personnel in management, operations, or maintenance of an advanced wastewater treatment plant

Qualifications

  • Computer and office equipment skills
  • Public relations and customer service skills
  • Verbal and written skills, including report writing
  • Accounting, budgeting, and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge of management and leadership principles, organization, and work scheduling
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, equipment, materials, and standards involved in the operations, maintenance, and management of wastewater treatment (WWT) systems
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Requires expert level mechanical/electrical skills
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, schematics, and O&M manuals, etc
  • Must be versed in verbal and written communication skills to convey information to co-workers, equipment vendors, consultants, contractors, and the general public
  • The ability to assist in the start-up and commissioning of new facilities
  • Knowledge of laboratory best practices and safety procedures
