Duties
- Organize, supervise, and schedule resources to meet program and production goals
- Analyze, develop, revise, and improve scheduling, standards, and procurement methods
- Conduct studies, analyze data, and prepare reports of findings and recommendations
- Formulate and administer budgets
- Develop work-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Modify work assignments of employees in accordance with plant needs
- Formulate, interpret, enforce, and apply policies and regulatory requirements controlling plant processes
- Recommend staffing levels and equipment purchase and replacement
Requirements
- Bachelors in Environmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or related degree preferred
- Heavy background in maintenance of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment (i.e.: control panels, MBRs, PLCs, VFDs, submersible pumps, lift systems, equipment rigging, motor and bearing replacement, etc.)
- Certification Desired: State of Texas, Class 1/A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license or another state’s equivalent, or ability to gain licensing as required by the regulatory authority
- Five plus years supervising personnel in management, operations, or maintenance of an advanced wastewater treatment plant
Qualifications
- Computer and office equipment skills
- Public relations and customer service skills
- Verbal and written skills, including report writing
- Accounting, budgeting, and record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of management and leadership principles, organization, and work scheduling
- Knowledge of principles, practices, equipment, materials, and standards involved in the operations, maintenance, and management of wastewater treatment (WWT) systems
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Requires expert level mechanical/electrical skills
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, schematics, and O&M manuals, etc
- Must be versed in verbal and written communication skills to convey information to co-workers, equipment vendors, consultants, contractors, and the general public
- The ability to assist in the start-up and commissioning of new facilities
- Knowledge of laboratory best practices and safety procedures
