About the role
AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team in Chicago, supporting exciting projects that improve community infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Technical design of projects associated with municipal water / wastewater / drainage infrastructure improvements.
- Providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Preparing technical specification sections.
- Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to entry-level engineers.
Requirements
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- EIT with plans to pursue a PE (preferred).
- 4+ years of relevant water infrastructure design experience (preferred).
- Previous experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Revit, Hydraulic modeling platforms) (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required).
- A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a team environment (required).
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Skills
- Experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles.
- Familiarity with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

Pay
The range for this position is $100000 to $125000 per year.
