About the role
Windsor is seeking an innovative engineer who's passionate about delivering excellence in water and wastewater treatment processes. As Water + Wastewater Process Engineer, you'll drive advanced treatment solutions from process design through system optimization while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your specialized expertise in treatment process design, system modeling, and performance optimization, combined with your commitment to regulatory compliance and operational efficiency, will shape reliable treatment infrastructure, foster strong partnerships with utilities and operators, and contribute to engineering excellence in water quality protection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in MN, OR and/or WA preferred
- 7+ years' experience in water/wastewater treatment engineering with demonstrated expertise in process design and system optimization
- 7+ years' experience with design of biological treatment systems, chemical treatment processes, solids handling, and advanced treatment technologies
- Experience in process modeling and equipment sizing for treatment facilities and process improvements
- Experience with mechanical system design and equipment specification for treatment processes
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to interface with utility clients, operators, and regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of process modeling software (BioWin, GPS-X, or similar) and AutoCAD or Civil 3D
- Experience with treatment process pilot testing and performance evaluation a plus
- Demonstrated experience with comprehensive process design documentation and technical specifications for water/wastewater treatment projects
- Experience supporting business development and client relationship management within the municipal utilities and treatment sector
- Experience working collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams for treatment facility projects
- Experience with technical writing and process design documentation for treatment infrastructure projects
- Experience with stakeholder engagement including utility staff, operators, and regulatory agencies on treatment performance topics
- Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment standards, process design principles, regulatory requirements (NPDES, drinking water standards), and operational considerations
