About the role
The Practice Leader will lead the technical delivery, client management and business development, and personnel elements of the water/wastewater team in Kansas City and develop strong working relationships with other water/wastewater teams in the firm.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and supervision to licensed and non-licensed engineers, designers, and other production personnel who collectively range widely in experience.
- Familiarize with engineering studies, reports, and design requirements needed to complete projects throughout Kansas and Missouri.
- Design of water systems such as storage tanks, booster pump station, transmission and distribution lines, groundwater wells, and water treatment facilities.
- Design of wastewater systems including collection systems, lift stations, force mains, and wastewater treatment processes.
- Design of effluent reuse systems such as tertiary filtration, storage, disinfection, pumping, and distribution.
- Familiarity and/or experience with federal and state funding programs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Lead the marketing and business development efforts for the water/wastewater team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering in an ABET-accredited college or university.
- A Master’s degree in a field directly relevant to water and wastewater treatment is considered a plus.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in municipal water infrastructure design.
- Active licensure in the State of Kansas or Missouri. Active licensure in other Midwest states a plus.
- Experience in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for design plan production.
- Experience with modeling software, such as WaterCAD and SewerCAD is a plus.
