Water/Wastewater Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. The Water Business Line is seeking interns for its Clifton Park, NY office to work on planning, design, and construction administration for water, wastewater, stormwater, and water management projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilities planning, project design, permitting, and construction administration.
• Developing design reports and construction documents.
• Planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration for water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance projects.
• Fieldwork: conducting site visits, observing construction activities, collecting samples, analyzing water quality data, evaluating technologies and plant operations, troubleshooting processes, optimizing operations.
• Conducting condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities.
• Preparing and delivering effective presentations; participating in client meetings; interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.
• Working on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously.
• Exercising judgment on work details and making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field (required).
• Local candidates given preference – relocation assistance not available for this position.
• Prior internship experience (preferred).

• Client‑facing skills: preparing and delivering presentations, participating in client meetings, interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $24.96 – $37.44 per hour.
