About the role
The Water/Wastewater Practice at David Evans and Associates, Inc., is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer in Portland, OR, Beaverton, OR, or Salem, OR. The ideal candidate will support the planning and design of municipal (special purpose district and/or city) water and wastewater infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Engineering & Design
- Perform planning and design for water and wastewater infrastructure systems
- Support development of:
- Conveyance and pumping systems
- Storage and distribution systems
- Collection systems and treatment facilities
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
- Aid in permitting and regulatory coordination
- Project Support
- Contribute to project delivery including scope, schedule, and budget adherence
- Support task leadership on projects and coordinate with internal teams
- Collaborate with drafters, EITs, and other technical staff
- Growth & Development
- Participate in mentorship and development of junior staff
- Continue developing technical expertise and professional skills
- Contribute to a collaborative environment
- Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); EIT required, PE or ability to obtain preferred
- 4–8 years of experience in civil engineering, with exposure to water and wastewater system design
- Experience supporting municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater projects
- Familiarity with water/wastewater design principles and engineering fundamentals
- Working knowledge of public agency standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets)
- Ability to support design tasks and collaborate effectively within project teams
- Strong communication and technical writing skills

Pay
Potential salary range: $100,000/annually - $130,000/annually
