Water/Wastewater Engineer in Training II
About the role
As an Engineer in Training II at GCW, you will perform entry-level professional engineering work including developmental assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under close supervision. This role requires working on-site in Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
- Aid in design and planning of engineering projects under supervision of the Project Manager.
- Prepare report, model, calculations, drawing preparation and revisions, and review of shop drawings and requests-for-information under Project Manager supervision.
- Aid in the preparation of cost estimates, reviews modeling and basic calculations.
- Avoid conducting study plans.
- Conduct research and prepare draft technical specifications for review and approval by Project Manager.
- Interact, as directed, with clients on an intermittent basis as well as gather information from agencies as required.
Requirements
- Possesses ability to apply engineering principles to evaluate and solve basic engineering problems.
- Working knowledge of CAD Civil 3D software and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Project).
- Specific working knowledge of ArcGIS software and/or WaterCAD is preferred for some departments.
- Water/Wastewater Division: Perform water and sewer analysis, prepare GIS databases and exhibits, conduct condition assessments, make rehab recommendations, develop improvement plans, and design sewer and water main infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline is required.
- Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam: EI certificate.
- Valid driver’s license.
