About the role

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Engineer with progressive experience in water and wastewater system planning, design, and construction, including water transmission systems, force mains, and the evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer systems. Construction phase experience is desired. Experience with water and wastewater facilities, water storage tanks, and pumping stations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently work on technical tasks with minimal supervision, lead and coordinate technical tasks, and serve as project design lead when appropriate.
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals, particularly the development of technical approaches.
  • Manage, plan, and provide design oversight of water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality requirements.
  • Control work-in-progress and ensure accurate client billings.
  • Participate in the construction phase, including pre-bid conferences, interpretations, post-bid evaluations, and contract preparation.
  • Participate in pre-project presentations and interviews.
  • Lead project planning efforts from procurement and negotiation through execution and closeout, while monitoring project status to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to mentor and train younger engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater system planning, design, and construction, including water transmission systems, force mains, and the evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer systems.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license registered in the State of Maryland, or ability to become registered through comity from another state within 6 months.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $185,000. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
