Water/Wastewater Engineer
About the role
As part of HDR’s Washington Water Business Group, our thriving team is recognized throughout Washington in the planning, design, and delivery of complex water/wastewater pump station, pipeline and treatment projects. As a water/wastewater engineer in our group, you will play an integral part on various multidisciplinary teams to support highly visible, impactful public infrastructure projects across the region and country.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures, as needed
- Act as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, as needed
- Delegate to and mentor junior staff, as needed
- Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
Requirements
- Preferred Qualifications: Registered Professional Engineer in Washington or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and supporting implementation of pipeline, pump station and/or treatment projects
- Master’s degree
- Software knowledge: AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office; scheduling software, hydraulic or process modeling software experience a plus
- Active in area water/wastewater industry associations is a strong plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
