Water Truck Driver/Laborer

Hilltop Quarry, a division of The H&K Group, Inc., is searching for a Water Truck Driver/Laborer to join their team in Dalton, PA. The driver operates a water truck to transport and dump water for dust suppression and supports other quarry production tasks.

About the role

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and excels at teamwork. A CDL license is not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the truck daily and completes inspection sheets
• Drives safely and efficiently to achieve production goals
• Inspects roadways regularly to determine dust suppression needs
• Performs routine maintenance on the truck, such as lubrication and cleaning
• Waters roads and shots for dust control
• Performs general clean-up around the plant
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) from an accredited institution or related experience and/or training
• A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to pass a fit test and use appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Safety certifications from OSHA, MSHA, or similar
• Previous experience in surface mining, construction materials, heavy civil, or highway construction

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required: distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise
