About the role
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Staff Engineer to join our Renewables team in our St. Cloud-MN, Minnetonka-MN, or Englewood-CO. The qualified individual will support permitting, design, and construction of Solar, Wind, and Battery Storage projects across the country. This position will coordinate with other Civil and Water Resources Engineers to ensure projects are protected from flooding and meet storm-water regulations. Ideal for recent civil engineering (or related field) graduates or individuals with 0-3 years of experience aiming for increasing sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
- Dive into stormwater modeling, floodplain analysis, and hydraulic design, contributing to projects that have a lasting positive impact on communities.
- Work alongside various teams within Westwood to produce quality designs for solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the country.
- Gain hands-on experience with industry-leading software, including FLO2D, AutoCAD, Global Mapper, HEC-RAS, and ArcPro, enhancing your ability to bring innovative designs to fruition.

Requirements
- Graduates holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related field), eager to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.
- Individuals with 0-4 years of experience, ready to tackle complex engineering challenges using advanced modeling software.
- Candidates with a strong foundation in technical writing and communication, proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools, who can develop and maintain relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.
