About the role
VHB, a leading AEC firm, is seeking a senior-level Water Resources Engineer with deep hydraulics and hydrology expertise to lead cutting-edge projects in New England. The ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Boston area and will be part of a high-performing team delivering innovative and resilient water resources solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leading multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, and resiliency focus
- Conducting hydrologic, hydraulic, and scour studies for riverine and coastal environments
- Using analysis to identify and design flood, scour, and resiliency improvements
- Developing technical reports, design plans, construction documents, and specifications
- Leading the construction administration for water resource projects
- Working with VHB's integrated team to evaluate permit requirements and support permit applications
- Attending and presenting at meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
- Leading the development of project proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
- Mentoring and expanding the technical resources of our staff
Qualifications
- A minimum of 11-15 years experience in related water resource engineering and analysis
- A BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or a master’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience)
- A PE license
Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs
- Experience and interest in staff development
- Understanding of local, state, and federal permitting
Benefits
This high priority role offers an exclusive sign-on bonus. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Boston/Watertown, MA is $145,000-$200,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
