About the role
The Water Resources Project Manager will lead projects and mentor design teams responsible for stormwater management, drainage design, erosion and sediment control, watershed planning, and hydraulic modeling for bridges and major culverts across various delivery methods for transportation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects and mentor design teams responsible for stormwater management, drainage design, erosion and sediment control, watershed planning, and hydraulic modeling for bridges and major culverts across various delivery methods for transportation projects.
- Prepare plans, technical reports, and engineering calculations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop scope and fee proposals.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Participate in project pursuits and other business development efforts.
- Assist in developing scope and fee proposals.
- Exhibit client coordination skills.
- Use MicroStation and familiarize with InRoads or OpenRoads Designer.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Have knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation Modal, Maryland counties, and local municipalities.
- Have experience working with MDE and familiarity with SHA guidelines and procedures.
- Be proficient with hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling software including TR-20, TR-55, HydroCAD and HY-8.
- Experience in ABSCOUR, HEC-18, HY-8, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS is desired but not required.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in water resources engineering for transportation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of water resources engineering, including drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, stream restoration, bridge scour, outfall design, and TMDL requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation Modal, Maryland counties, and local municipalities.
- Familiarity with SHA guidelines and procedures is beneficial.
- Experience working with MDE.

Benefits
Salary range for this position is $114,000 to $147,000*
