Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • Oversee the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare, design and review engineering construction plans, drawings, and specifications for various water resources projects.
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic studies for floodplain, drainage improvements, climate resiliency, flooding, dam breach analysis, stabilization, restoration.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Design and prepare deliverables for multiple water resources projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Aid in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Cook up with internal and external teams to obtain necessary information, permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Perform quality control review of delegated work.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction, future collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering or related engineering field.
  • Experience with ArcGIS and HEC-RAS preferred.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or Civil 3D AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with InRoads and/or OpenRoads preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, design standards, permitting and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, hybrid office/remote environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
