About the role
The Wooten Company is seeking a team-focused, innovative Water Resources Practice Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater utilities.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in the participation of client proposals including development of work, schedules, fees, and overall content.
- Serve as the primary client contact for water/wastewater clients in South Carolina.
- Routinely network in South Carolina to increase our presence in the region.
- Direct and provide technical assistance and oversight for preliminary engineering reports, engineering calculations and modeling, construction plans, local permitting, quality assurance and control, preliminary cost opinions, advertising and bidding (if public), and client meetings.
- Supervise, monitor, and maintain effective client liaisons and relationships; serve as the primary client contact for water/wastewater clients in South Carolina.
- Direct and supervise staff activities withing the practice including hires, terminations, mentorships, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
Requirements
- B.S. Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a consulting engineering environment
- SC licensed Professional Engineer
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Previous supervisory and management experience (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (365) applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and knowledge of AutoCAD – Civil 3D
Qualifications
- Strong experience with engineering concepts, design, and construction administration and observation for water, sewer, and stormwater utility projects.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations.
- Experience with public infrastructure project financing (preferred).
- Experience with hydraulic modeling.(preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to clients and plan/conduct meetings.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and train employees to reach the common goals of the practice, office, and company.
- Ability to travel within a 2-to-3-hour radius, as required.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
