About the role

Dewberry is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern in our Gainesville, VA office for Summer 2027. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
  • Participate in floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design projects.
  • Collaborate with a team to work on innovative and complex projects at the forefront of the industry.
  • Gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  • Work on a summer-long group project alongside firm leaders to address issues impacting future strategy.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
  • Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

Benefits

Salary Range: $17.75/hour - $28.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
