Water Resources Engineer - Stormwater/Civil Site Design

Responsibilities
- Support a range of water resources and civil site design projects with a strong emphasis on stormwater management, conveyance systems, drainage design, and hydrology/hydraulics for municipal and site development work.
- Perform calculations, develop design plans, conduct site evaluations, and contribute to technical deliverables that improve community resilience and infrastructure performance.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers and project managers while also guiding and reviewing the work of junior staff.
- Use firm TKM systems and materials, contribute to technical knowledge development, and may support poster or presentation materials for conferences.
- Work on civil site and water resources design for stormwater systems, open channel flow, culverts, detention/retention, conveyance networks, and green infrastructure.
- Conduct field and site evaluations to understand existing conditions, verify design assumptions, and support solution development.
- Develop design plans, details, and technical specifications for stormwater, conveyance, erosion control, and related civil-site features.
- Support water resources work across areas such as watershed management, floodplain assessments, stormwater retrofits, CSO mitigation, ecosystem restoration, pressure conduits, and urban watershed planning.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration across utility, roadway, environmental, and structural elements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality review for junior staff.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development through use of TKM systems, posing technical questions, and supporting content creation as directed.
- Participate in team presentations or preparation of conference materials as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with GIS for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Intermediate proficiency with CADD and 3D/4D drafting tools used in civil site and water resources design.
- Solid understanding of engineering design principles, particularly related to stormwater, drainage, and conveyance systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology relevant to stormwater and civil-site work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Solid working knowledge of design support tools such as mathematical models, scripting languages, and other analytical tools.
