Water Resources Engineer I
About the role
This position will be responsible for storm water management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic modeling and environmental permitting in accordance with NCDOT, other state transportation agencies, and local municipalities standards, criteria and accepted practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare environmental permit application packages
- Experience with riverine modeling using HEC-RAS
- Experience with 2-dimensional bridge hydraulics modeling
- Experience using ArcGIS for water resources projects
- Experience with floodplain studies and FEMA LOMC
- Experience with design-build and/or other alternative delivery projects
- Watershed delineation and determination of hydrological parameters
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using ICPR
- Experience using Geopak Drainage and/or ASAD
- Experience with plans production using Microstation/CADD
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience
Professional registration (PE) within the field of engineering
Minimum five years' relevant experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
