Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced engineering design tasks on complex water resource projects
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure
- Develop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and perform simulations
- Create detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports, along with permit application support
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projects
- Mentor, train, and oversee staff
- Manage water resource related projects and tasks
- Pursue client management and business development opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering (or related field)
- Professional Engineer licensed in Arizona or able to obtain an AZ license
- 6+ years of water resources engineering experience
- Experience mentoring and managing staff
Preferred Capabilities
- Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solution of complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Strong experience with hydrologic and hydraulic processes and expertise in modeling these processes
- Familiarity with Low Impact Development, Green Infrastructure, and/or Nature-Based Solutions
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, or other standard water resources software
- Proficiency in 2D Hydraulic Modeling (e.g., FLO-2D) preferred, but not required
