Water Program Manager - Data Centers

About the role

We are seeking a Water Infrastructure Program Manager (PgmM) to join our team. This role will focus on developing, coordinating, and delivering water infrastructure consulting, design projects, and tasks for data center clients. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams through various stages of data center projects, including planning, design, and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and deliver water infrastructure projects for data center clients.
• Collaborate with teams inside HDR to support water infrastructure-oriented tasks.
• Manage teams working on tasks from front-end site due-diligence evaluation to construction administration and commissioning phases.
• Support water sustainability initiatives aligned with client goals.
• Execute HDR’s water infrastructure scopes and responsibilities, balancing fast-paced and variable environments.
• Work with business development teams to identify and pursue project opportunities.
• Manage client relationships and formulate project approaches to meet client expectations.
• Coordinate with HDR’s TMT business development teams to grow HDR’s water-related work for data center clients.
• Take on Project Management (PM) and Principal in Charge (PIC) assignments to drive client satisfaction, staff development, technical excellence, and mentoring opportunities.
• Facilitate development and dissemination of lessons learned, Standards & Practices, and other key delivery guidance/tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or other similar engineering disciplines.
• Experienced in developing and managing client relationships and specific program/project pursuits.
• Experience working cooperatively with multiple HDR positions such as Market Sector Leadership, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, and Area Managers.
• Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and an attitude/commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, works well in a team and matrix environment, highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Platforms, including MS Office and MS Project.
• Project management experience with winning and delivering projects in the Data Center and other industrial sectors, with responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng).
• PMP certification.
• Experience designing industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, including development of conceptual/preliminary designs and detailed design document preparation.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace platforms (formerly G Suite or Google Apps).
