Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers exceeding 26,000 lbs
- Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to and from job sites
- Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, ratchet straps, and tarps
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of vehicles and equipment and complete required documentation
- Maintain driver logs when required
- Perform general labor duties on water and sewer construction crews
- Auxiliary tasks such as hand digging, shoveling, and site preparation
- Lift and carry materials up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
- Work safely in outdoor and extreme weather conditions
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining awareness in the “red zone”
- Perform duties as assigned by supervisor to support crew production and efficiency
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A or CDL-B Driver’s License meeting Company Fleet Policy requirements
- Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience
- Minimum 1 year CDL license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of underground utility markings and locator systems
- Ability to safely operate vehicles around workers, equipment, and underground utilities
- Ability to properly secure loads and operate hauling equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, dependable, and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow directions and maintain strong safety awareness
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and crawling
- Ability to work in the “red zone” around heavy equipment
- Flexibility to adapt to different job sites, schedules, and travel requirements
Employment Requirements
- Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation
- Must provide documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility in accordance with federal I-9 requirements
- Ability to pass drug test and background check
- Willingness to travel and work in different areas as needed
- Commitment to following all Safety Policies and Procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor
- Ability to work overtime and extended hours based on workload
- Must be 18 years of age
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to work in demanding outdoor construction environments
- Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, traffic, and uneven terrain

- Work performed in close proximity to active construction operations and utilities
Schedule/Travel Requirements
- Full-time position with potential for overtime and weekend work
- Travel required depending on job location and project needs
- Flexibility to work extended hours and overnight stays when necessary
