Water and Wastewater Plant Project Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update project schedules as required
  • Aid the Project Manager with purchase orders, submittal reviews, and preparation
  • Maintain job files, submittal logs, request for information, change and field orders
  • Verify field measurements for material fabrication and expedite deliveries
  • Spare parts transfer
  • Attend meetings with subcontractors, engineers, and owners
  • Stay current on safety standards and provide knowledge & feedback
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Educational background - preferably a Bachelor’s degree (at a minimum) in the fields of civil engineering, environmental engineering and/or construction management
  • Prior internship or Co-op experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities, workflow and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Frequent travel by car; Proof of insurance and a clean DMV record may be required.
  • Clock multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud.
  • May be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment when in the field.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; sit; talk and hear.
  • The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
