The position of Wastewater Treatment Team Leader is available in Florida. Plummer seeks to develop its people and attract top talent, fostering a culture of ownership and entrepreneurial spirit. This role involves leading the wastewater and reuse treatment practice, providing technical leadership, and managing projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on strategic pursuits and be an active client account team member for key clients in Florida.
- Communicate with the Florida Area Leader on business development strategies across the geography.
- Develop long-lasting partnerships with clients, understand their needs and challenges, and provide exceptional client service.
- Coordinate with the Florida Area Leader and client contacts to explore future opportunities, budget planning, and staff resourcing needs.
- Participate in campaign planning and pursuit strategies including client “brown-bag” presentations, pursuit “GO/NO GO” decisions, and proposal development and interviews.
- Provide market sector content and thought leadership material to corporate communications related to key projects and emerging technology.
- Engage in active recruitment to build the wastewater practice.
- Provide project management, leadership, and delivery oversight for on-going reuse and wastewater projects in Florida and across the company as required.
- Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects.
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
- Maintain and enhance Plummer’s reputation with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider.
- Maintain consistently high standards of delivery, quality, flexibility, and innovation.
- Lead pilot studies for various treatment technologies.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the A/E/C industry and expertise in Wastewater Reuse Treatment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university.
- A doctorate degree is preferred but not required.
- Eight years’ experience in the Consulting Engineering industry specializing in water treatment process design.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
- Outstanding communication skills and prior experience.
Qualifications
- Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university. A doctorate degree is preferred but not required. Ten years of total professional experience in the field, including design experience.

- Strong verbal and written skills to communicate tactfully with client’s staff at all levels.
- Tactful communication with client’s staff at all levels.
- Technically savvy with the skills and experience to lead the technical aspects of a treatment project.
- Leadership and involvement in related professional societies.
- Preparation and presentation of papers at regional and national technical conferences and seminars.
- Key committee participation where available and appropriate.
