Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains compliance with Federal, State, County, City and other applicable public health environmental and safety standards.
- Monitors control panels, gauges, and meters to detect variations in operating conditions.
- Operates a variety of hand tools and job-related power equipment.
- Operates job-related heavy equipment including, but not limited to, dump trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, sludge trucks, spreader trucks, backhoes, and forklifts.
- Performs general vehicle and building maintenance, custodial, and grounds keeping tasks such as general cleaning and snow removal.
- Performs sampling and testing to monitor plant processes.
- Maintains sewer lift stations, pumps, collection lines, manholes, equipment, and related facilities of the wastewater collection and treatment system.
- Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment.
- Inspects and maintains equipment and related facilities of the wastewater collection and treatment system.
- Operates a variety of hand tools and job-related power equipment.
- Operates job-related heavy equipment including, but not limited to, dump trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, sludge trucks, spreader trucks, backhoes, and forklifts.
- Maintains compliance with Federal, State, County, City and other applicable public health environmental and safety standards.
Specialized Knowledge
- Idaho Wastewater Treatment Operator-In-Training certification within 12 months of hire date.
- Idaho drivers license with Class B CDL, air brake and tanker endorsements within 90 days of hire date.
- Methods, equipment, materials, tools, and standard practices for the operation and maintenance of a wastewater collection and treatment facility.
- Wastewater laboratory sampling and testing procedures and standards.
- Equipment and tool operation and maintenance practices.
- Mechanical apparatus, electrical, pump, and pipe fitting methods and techniques.
- Basic math and science principles required to perform routine testing, sampling, and reporting.
