About the role

As a Wastewater Mechanic I at Jacobs, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Gresham, OR, you’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery, and equipment
  • Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions
  • Replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment
  • Tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators
  • Examine equipment failures to identify cause and prevent recurrences
  • Install and set up new equipment
  • Clean and paint interior and exterior equipment and buildings
  • Perform plumbing and pipe fitting tasks, including cleaning out pipes
  • Use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld
  • Perform duties of a painter in their absence
  • Assist in keeping maintenance records
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your team

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and/or related industrial equipment, or similar maintenance experience
  • A valid Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification or ability to obtain within 3 years of date of hire
  • Proficiency in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • A valid driver’s license with no major infractions

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,490.00 to $83,866.00; pay will be hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
