Performs daily wastewater sampling, maintenance, and compliance tasks under the direction of the Environmental Manager. Operates and maintains the wastewater system in accordance with state permit requirements, conducts inspections, and prepares records and reports.
Responsibilities
- Sample wastewater daily and record data.
- Perform daily maintenance of wastewater system.
- Prepare wastewater and finished product samples for laboratory analysis.
- Monitor plant water to ensure quality and proper chemical balance.
- Adjust chemicals and equipment as needed to maintain water quality.
- Perform minor and routine maintenance on wastewater control and treatment equipment.
- Ensure sprayers are used on correct fields in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Assist in sludge disposal, including pumping sludge, draining tanks, and cleaning DAF and water clarification units.
- Monitor, maintain, and clean equipment for the Odor Control System.
- Perform related tasks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
- Proficiency in basic math.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Legible penmanship.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs; occasionally lifts up to 55 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, and crawling.
Working Environment
- Industrial plant environment, both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Moderate to loud noise levels.
- Availability to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
- Travel may be required, but less than 10%.
Schedule
7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 4 days on / 4 days off.
