Waste Specialist

Join our global network of skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring a sustainable future. We are seeking a Waste Specialist to join our North American Waste Services Group in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will play a key role in environmental waste management, providing coordination and compliance support across various projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordination, oversight, and scheduling with waste transportation and disposal subcontractors
- Perform weekly RCRA Hazardous waste inspections
- Conduct EHS activities and waste characterization sampling
- Make solid waste determinations per RCRA regulations
- Create waste profiles with various TSDFs
- Manage waste requests in accordance with client contracts
- Provide waste compliance and coordination support to internal GHD staff and external clients
- Input project data into a customized database to develop client reports
- Coordinate with GHD staff performing waste management and disposal tasks
- Review and prepare accurate waste shipping documentation (analytical requirements, profiles, manifests)
- Proactively communicate with clients during all phases of waste projects
- Oversee project accounting: develop proposals, cost estimates, and purchase orders for waste transportation and disposal
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science field (preferably chemistry, biology, or environmental science)
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience
- Knowledge and experience with United States EPA RCRA, TSCA, and DOT regulations are highly desirable
