Wash Rack Specialist & Facilities Maintenance

Dobbs Equipment is seeking a Wash Rack Specialist & Facilities Maintenance professional to perform washing, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Work alone with limited supervision.
  • Prepare reports and forms required for job assignments.
  • Wash and clean machines and equipment.
  • Inspect and perform check-out and check-in procedures.
  • Document equipment condition before and after utilization.
  • Assist with routine inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment inventory systems per standard operating procedure.
  • Maintain the condition of wash rack sump and separator tanks to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Assist in preparing and packaging shipments; deliver parts and components to customers as needed.
  • Work safely and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Report any shop tools, equipment, or vehicle that is not in serviceable condition or is unsafe to use.
  • Conduct self to present a professional image of the dealership.
  • Operate equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around the shop.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of 2 years related experience (preferred).
  • Stay current with technical changes.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Forklift Certification (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Self-manage and self-motivate.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends or overtime.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write diagnoses and work completed on routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Develop skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and machines.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think creatively.
  • Overnight travel less than 5% (for training).
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Work Environment

While performing the functions of this job, the employee regularly works in a service shop setting and is exposed to frequently changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, welding shields, hard hats, vests, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, etc.
  • Full range of motion for back, arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Full range of motion for both legs, including climbing, twisting, squatting, and pushing.
  • Ability to use hand tools, fuel hoses, and lubrication systems on all equipment.
  • Ability to climb onto or down from mobile construction equipment (typically 3-4 feet of climbing) for service and inspection.
  • Frequently required to lift or carry loads greater than 50 lbs but less than 75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear at moderate noise levels.
