WASH GENERAL MAINTENANCE

About the role

The General Maintenance role supports mill operations by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production.

Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets), door hardware, and minor carpentry
• Maintain mill grounds, including lawn care, debris removal, and general property upkeep
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers), tractors, and other light machinery
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including HVAC filter changes and basic system cleaning
• Assist with basic operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment system
• Conduct routine inspections and testing as required; identify and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and testing records
• Assist with general janitorial duties to support overall facility cleanliness and organization
• Perform painting and minor facility improvements as needed
• Support overall mill operations by completing assigned tasks and responding to maintenance needs in a timely manner
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Maintenance or related experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift
• Ability to frequently push, pull, and lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 150 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
• Manufacturing/production environment with exposure to noise; hearing protection required
• Use of compressed air and other equipment requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Exposure to varying temperatures, indoor and outdoor conditions
