About the role
This position is responsible for receiving, storing and issuing parts, PO’s and other materials to internal and external customers while maintaining 100% accurate inventory.
Responsibilities
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site
- Verifies material received to determine physical variances in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment
- Sort cargo before loading and unloading
- Stack cargo in locations such as transit sheds or in holds of ships as directed, using pallets or cargo boards
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
- Update inventory locations in ERP system
- Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager/Coordinator
Requirements
- Pick-up product by monitoring production; loading and moving product
- Store product by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements; updating location database
- Prepare product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving problems
- Verify product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports, adjusting entries
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases
- Makes transactions in SAP and other electronic media to maintain traceability and audit trail
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 5 years of experience in warehouse operations
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships with internal and external customers in a warehouse setting
- Solid data entry and record keeping skills
- Experience with shipping procedures and vendor practices
- Previous parts and/or warehouse experience a plus
- Forklift driver’s license
- SAP knowledge
- Microsoft Excel and Word intermediate user
- Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills
- High attention to detail and precise data entry/record keeping
- Thorough knowledge of all computer systems, procedures, and service operations
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Communicates discrepancies in inventory to manager for approval
Skills
- Capable of performing the following essential physical demands
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist
- Must be able to perform single-handed carry up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to perform two-handed carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to operate motor vehicles with current valid driver’s license
- Must be able to walk on various terrain
- Must be able to communicate in written and oral form
- Must be able to travel
- Complexity of tasks
- Ability to follow directions working from verbal instructions, working independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to comply with the facility’s production, quality and safety standards
- Must possess a high degree of initiative, with the ability to be promptly and regularly at work
- Work fluctuating schedules for extended periods of time
- Utilize special senses
- Protective equipment needed
