A Day in the Life
As a Sanitation Worker, this role is tasked with maintaining a clean and safe facility environment through detailed cleaning procedures, equipment sanitization, and adherence to food safety standards. The work contributes to operational efficiency of the warehouse and production operations.
- Cleaning break rooms, offices, restrooms, and production areas
- Removing refuse
- Sanitizing floors and machinery
- Documenting cleaning tasks in alignment with company procedures
- Disassembling and reassembling machine parts to ensure proper sanitation
- Assisting with pre-operational inspections to maintain food safety compliance
What You Bring to the Table
- Sanitation Expertise and Compliance Awareness
- Experienced in cleaning facility areas and machinery, with knowledge of food safety sanitation practices
- Adheres to structured cleaning routines and maintains proper documentation
- Physical Capability and Coordination
- Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and performing frequent physical tasks such as walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and climbing
- Demonstrates hand, eye, and foot coordination while using equipment and tools safely
- Detail Orientation and Work Ethic
- Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency and ensures consistent cleanliness
- Performs sanitation tasks thoroughly to contribute to a safe operating environment
- Safety and Equipment Familiarity
- Understands workplace safety procedures and may have familiarity with lock out/tag out (LOTO)
- Operates sanitation equipment such as squeegees, bailers, sprayers, and foam systems effectively
- Communication and Teamwork
- Communicates clearly with team members and sanitation leadership, reports concerns promptly, and contributes to a collaborative team environment
- Works independently and adapts based on coaching and feedback
Core Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow safety rules, work procedures, and food safety standards
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, stretch, step, and climb frequently
- Ability to lift and move equipment/product weighing up to 70–100 pounds
- Cordination to use tools and equipment properly
- Basic math skills for cleaning documentation and measurement accuracy
- Ability to accept supervisory feedback and meet performance expectations
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with equipment safety procedures including lock out/tag out
- Experience in food production or sanitation
- Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to cleaning standards
