Warehouse Worker LTL Packer

About the role

This position is responsible for packing, labeling, and securing larger parts and orders for customers who have a “Less than Load” order to be shipped out of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Inspects each order to determine correct size of pallet and/or box to use, choosing those and any other necessary materials.
• Examines all parts for condition and cleanliness standards before packing.
• Verifies customer name and order number in RF scanner matches paper sales order.
• Utilizes RF scanner to ensure all orders/inventory are accurately tracked.
• Packs, seals, and labels all items, using hand/power tools and packing materials as needed.
• Ensures all items are packed according to established company standards and policies.
• Completes documentation process—measuring shipment, writing on sales order.
• Performs quality control on each pallet/box of order.
• Notifies LTL Material Handler that order is ready for staging/loading process.
• Cleans packing station and floor area daily, restocking supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Good written, verbal, grammar, and spelling skills.
• Focused and goal-driven to meet the needs of the department and company.
• Positive attitude with the ability to boost team/self-morale as needed.
• Previous warehousing experience a plus.

Working Conditions

• Long periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending.
• Constant use of hands and arms to lift and wrap/box/stack heavy parts.
• Required to lift up to 100 lbs.; lift assistance (manual or machine) provided after 40 lbs. or as needed.
• Climbing and walking on uneven surfaces.
• Exposure to heat/cold conditions in a warehouse setting.
• Physically demanding role with significant lifting of parts.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, Day Shift, 8-hour shifts.
