Job Summary
Serves as working leader with responsibility for leading three or more warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and/or shipping stock and supplies.

Represents a representative level of work led at NA-4.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates proper work methods required to start and complete work assigned.
- Ensures that needed materials and tools are available.
- Works with associates in performing established procedures.
- Sets the pace performing the nonsupervisory work of the same kind and level as that of the associates led.
- Relays to associates instructions from supervisor.
- Checks working progress for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work guidelines and procedures.
- Ensures that work is completed in a timeframe set by supervisor.
- Answers associates' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
- Provides information to supervisor on status of work operations.
- Provides input for work performance appraisals and recommends leave.
- Affirms that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
- Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance and repair programs for vehicles.
- Determines maintenance and repair priorities, establishes maintenance schedules, reviews and evaluates work-in-process and completed work to assure compliance with established standards.
- Reviews and analyzes major component repairs, provides guidance as required.
- Affirms that daily inspections of fleet equipment are performed by operators along with complying with all federal, state, and DOD regulations.
- Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who issues instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines and relies upon the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other associates.
- Supervisor is available to provide information or make decisions regarding problems that may arise during work.
- Overall work operations are reviewed for status and progress, causes of delays, and resolution of operating problems.
- Operates a forklift as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas which require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- May lift and carry supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed inside warehouse in bin rooms, in open areas, and in receiving, shipping areas.
- The areas may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot.
- Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse or bin aisles, ramps, or platforms.
- Exposed to injury from falling stock, from handling materials, and from mechanical equipment.
Training Requirement
- Associate must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
- Eighteen months experience performing warehousing-related duties such as loading, unloading, receiving, storing, and maintaining reorder stock control records or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.
- Substitution of Education for Experience: One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
