Warehouse Worker / Forklift Operator

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Provide customer assistance, including the sale of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of goods.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and the warehouse storage facility.
• Ensure that the warehouse storage facility is clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
• The ability to adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
• Physical demands include long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
