Warehouse Worker (Experienced Forklift Driver)

The Warehouse Worker receives and unloads container shipments; inspects all goods received according to established company procedures; moves freight to designated warehouse storage areas; and prepares freight for final delivery. Key Accountabilities: Receives product Accurate, clear and organized paperworkLabels product with correct pallet tagsCommunicates clearly with supervisor and reports all discrepancies accurately. Guards product while receiving and makes sure it is in a secure area to avoid theft from outsiders. Helps with the physical unloading of trucks Splits/stages product for shipping when a pallet arrives with product for different stores Moves pallets to split areaSorts product by store and departmentBuilds new pallets by storeMakes sure heavy product is always at the bottom of every palletMakes sure all the product is labeled with its corresponding pallet tagWraps pallet with the film stretch wrap to secure productMoves product to store line Loads/ships product to the stores Builds container to make sure there is enough product for a full loadKeeps good communication with drivers for proper equipment availabilityMaintains good knowledge of vessel schedules and port cut offs for the proper loading of containers by priority. Inspects container before loadingRemoves half of the pallet tag from each pallet for office use and walks through all the product checking for pallet tags left behind before loadingLoads containers to full capacity Helps clean warehouse and secure all exits/docks Cleans work area before leaving each dayHelps dispose of all garbage to keep safe work areas. Assists others in cleaning break room and bathroomsMakes sure to close all loading dock doors before leaving every day Desired Skills & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One Year Warehouse Experience Preferred. Forklift experience a must. Company will provide relevant training. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Employee must be able to operate computer systems such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, inventory software and order processing systems. Employee must possess the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Working Conditions: The employee will be working primarily in a warehouse environment, and is required to stand 95% of the time. Employee is required to walk, bend, use full hand mechanics, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
