Salary Range

Up to $36,890 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing stock-keeping and clerical work, receiving, storing, and issuing supplies in several warehouses or storerooms.

Core Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads incoming/outgoing, storage, issuance, delivery, and inventory of supplies and equipment, including University Surplus materials and equipment.
  • Receives, inspects, and delivers incoming freight, priority/ground shipments, and supplies; checks merchandise against vendor paperwork; processes outgoing priority/ground packages; operates all types of warehouse equipment; reports and handles problems with damaged items.
  • Performs clerical functions, including answering telephone inquiries; storing, maintaining, and retrieving records; creating and receiving reports; and maintaining records of inventory.
  • Loads and unloads items in an organized, clean, accurate, and damage-free manner.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in loading and unloading to ensure safety.
  • Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with work instructions.
  • Makes recommendations to improve safety.
  • Completes work assignments in a timely manner, while utilizing equipment and teamwork effectively.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional exposure to hazards common in a warehouse, including dust and fumes; outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently transfers hazardous chemicals to the science building and labs.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to lift with or without accommodations.
  • Repeated kneeling, stooping, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • This position will work primarily on campus.
  • Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
  • This position is contingent upon a successful background check.
  • Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable.
  • Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
