Responsibilities
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and acting in a safe manner always.
- Unload and reload route truck;
- Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs;
- Ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycle or distribution centers;
- Conduct inventory count and reconciliation;
- Verify, receive, stock, and organize product;
- Pick, package, and ship outbound orders;
- Operate heavy material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jack;
- Load and unload trucks with various equipment and by hand;
- Cookier transportation for outbound shipments;
- Local deliveries when needed;
- Move trailers or trucks within the yard;
- Housekeeping in the branch (painting, picking up trash, sweeping, cleaning, straightening);
- Assist other business units;
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements;
- Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures;
- Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
- Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED;
- Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity;
- Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements;
- Reliable transportation required for local travel between facilities;
- Strong communication skills;
- Problem solving skills;
- Intermediate computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Office – Excel and Outlook experience required;
- Ability to work with waste labels, manifests, and load sheets;
- Forklift experience required;
- Experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
