Warehouse Worker
Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 18 hours per week) Warehouse Worker position for the Chemistry Department at Oregon State University (OSU).
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving shipments; Check for damage, verify items received, report any discrepancies
- Update all applicable paperwork and software applications of receipts.
- Maintain a positive chain of custody.
- Maintain a clear dock, tidy work area and clear aisles
- Contact the appropriate person/group that the order has arrived
- Track stalled or slow purchase orders and contact the appropriate person regarding the situation
- Support Chem Stores staff
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to use standard warehouse equipment to move heavy boxes, crates, and drums. Ability to access tall shelves safely with a ladder or other extended reach equipment. Experience providing quality customer service to a diverse group of individuals with varying needs and conflicting deadlines. Experience prioritizing various tasks and coordinating multiple projects. Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and various online software packages including Google Chrome and Firefox applications.
- Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Experience handling chemicals. Experience working in a warehouse environment.
Starting Salary
Starting salary will be commensurate with skills, education, and experience.

Working Conditions/Schedule
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment.
- Available to work mid-day each weekday; typically, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
- Availability to work an infrequent extended workday as needed by the department.
