The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the distribution of building materials (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials at designated warehouse locations.
• Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management, and other employees.
• Read work orders/invoices to determine product needs for customer pick-up or delivery.
• Frequently lift and carry building materials by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Operate a forklift to load a customer’s vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move product in stock, etc.
• Clean warehouse areas, including organization of materials, sweeping floors and parking lots, and emptying trash cans.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Customer Service & Technology Interaction

• Provide personalized customer service through direct in-person and phone conversations.
• Communicate with managers, employees, and customers while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials is preferred.
• Forklift and/or Moffett experience are preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
