Warehouse Worker
Summary
The Warehouse Specialist at Erie Materials is responsible for the distribution of building materials products (primarily roofing and siding products) to residential and commercial builders and contractors. Essential duties include safely operating company equipment, communicating with customers, reading work orders/invoices, lifting and carrying materials, and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely operate company equipment to transport and pick up building materials product at designated warehouse locations.
- Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatchers, management, and other employees.
- Read work orders/invoices to determine product needs for customer pick-up or delivery.
- Frequently lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Operate a forklift to load a customer's vehicle, load an Erie Materials delivery truck, unload a vendor truck, move product in stock, etc.
- Clean warehouse area(s) including organization of materials, sweeping warehouse floors and parking lot areas, emptying trash cans, etc.
- Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned.
Customer Service & Technology Interaction
- Provide personalized customer service through direct in-person conversations and phone conversations.
- Communicate with managers, other employees, and customers.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions, both in-person and electronically through technology mediums.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials product is preferred.
- Forklift and/or Moffett experience are preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Strong basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
