About the role

Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving, shipping, storing, and tracking equipment and materials kept in Betacom warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Load and/or unload equipment/materials during receiving and shipping.
  • Record materials and/or equipment entering and leaving the warehouse.
  • Confirm that orders are accurate.
  • Submit material order forms to the Warehouse Manager on an assigned periodic basis to maintain stock at pre-determined levels.
  • Submit warehouse supply order forms (e.g., paper towels, toiletries, soaps) to the Warehouse Manager to maintain warehouse supply stock.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, yard, parking lot, and surrounding area by removing trash and debris.
  • Pick up equipment/materials from customer locations as required.
  • Ensure spares and/or bad customer components are tagged properly and returned to the customer within the required timeframe.
  • Pick up/deliver equipment/materials to other Betacom warehouse locations as required.
  • Ensure yard dumpsters are unloaded and returned to the property in a timely manner.
  • Prepare materials for field crews to ensure readiness for scheduled assignments.
  • Assist with product assembly as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Great Plains (preferred).
  • Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and hand-operated pallet jack.
  • Able to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Good record-keeping skills and detail-oriented.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to drive a Box Truck and a 3/4 ton truck pulling a flatbed trailer.
  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse operations experience.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Class A or B CDL license (preferred).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and in outside weather conditions.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.

  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
