Warehouse Technician - Fossil Rock

This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day function of receiving, issuing and securing warehouse items. Maintain an accurate record system for inventory control and ensure that proper transactions are recorded for all material movements. Participate in taking monthly inventories. Keep the warehouse in an orderly state and make sure all supplies are stored in their proper location.

Responsibilities

  • Be an active participant with the Behavior Based Safety program.
  • Receive, stock and inventory all incoming parts and supplies.
  • Notify persons requesting inventory of its arrival.
  • Unload freight using forklifts and front-end loaders.
  • Process receiving paperwork and correctly file.
  • Compile reports on use of stock, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records and location changes.
  • Issue parts and supplies.
  • Perform janitorial and other surface-related tasks as necessary.
  • Backup mine monitoring system.
  • Answer phones on off shifts.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping standards for the warehouse and other buildings assigned to the warehouse.
  • Understand Emergency PO procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Computer data entry skills.
  • Previous warehouse experience a plus.
  • Capable of operating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • General knowledge of mining equipment, parts, and tools is preferred.
  • Capable of repeatedly lifting 50 lbs. chest high.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with crews, supervisors, managers, coordinators, production vendors, and inspectors.
  • Produce consistent quality work, prioritize, and complete jobs within determined time frames.
  • Must be a self-starter; work well with teams as well as independently.
  • Rotating shift schedule required (7-day operation).
  • Periodic overtime required.
